The isb was founded in 1984 by Bernd Schmid. Today, it is one of the most renowned systemic training institutes in the field of organizations in the German-speaking world. For more than 30 years, managers and specialists have been qualified in the areas of systemic consulting, coaching, team and personnel, organizational and cultural development, in the management of organizations in change processes and the fit between people and organizations.
It is renowned thanks to isb's innovative concepts and methods, which relate to the current development challenges of companies and the associated development of personal professionalism in organizations. The isb network of professionals comprises approximately 5,000 graduates from all sectors of the economy (including 85% of DAX companies) as well as other companies.
Each year, more than 550 participants attend our one- to two-year qualification courses as well as company-specific in-house programs. Customers are experienced professionals who, along with their own organization and professionalism, are able to learn the concepts of isb across disciplines.
The teaching team consists of over 30 trainers and teaching staff who are experienced professionals from the field and have worked with various organizations. Together with them, the individual elements of our program is continuously developed further. In all our offers, initiatives, cooperations, entrepreneurial activities and events the focus is always on the perspective of humane business.

Academy, network organization and think tank
The central pillar of the isb is the offer of further education as an academy and professionalization institute. Our offers consist of curricula and seminars, in-house curricula as well as the program of the isb ProfessionalGroup.
We are convinced that learning continues as a process even after training. This is why it is also part of our self-understanding to act as a network organization, which, with many actors, maintains different levels of participation and cooperation. In addition to our employees and the teaching team, there is the isb MasterGroup, a circle of 150 masters, closely linked to the isb. In the isb ProfessionalGroup, business-to-business cooperation takes place, and in PeerGroups, professionals across the German-speaking world meet for supervision, collegial consulting and joint topic and project development. We support these projects and projects, are partly directly involved and understand us at the isb as the hub of the network.
This also includes our free offer for all alumni: The isb network Systemic Professionalism, in which thousands of graduates exchange their ideas on topics, exchange ideas and give advice.

Over a period of more than 30 years, a large archive of publications has also been created. It includes papers, audios and videos. This knowledge is available free of charge to all isb-interested persons on the isb campus. The materials enable you to access directly usable know-how and versatile work materials.
isb participates in the development of its own industry through isb's own projects, partnership activities (the establishment and development of associations) and international initiatives.
